Metro Exodus RTX comparison videos

Ray tracing obviously adds a lot to visual fidelity in terms of lighting, but it's also quite a demanding technology which can affect performance dramatically. With everything else Metro Exodus does to push the hardware in the extreme preset, it's not surprising to see that capping the framerate at 30 fps does not even guarantee it will remain steady in 4K in some areas of the game. We've prepared a comparative video showcasing RTX with DLSS off. Enjoy!

Anthem 4K videos on PC

Anthem is available to all those who have subscribed to EA Access, so we finally put our money down to try the game ourselves. Since Gamersyde has never been high profile enough to be on EA's safe list for early reviews, we didn't have much of a choice if we wanted to be able to share videos before everyone starts playing the game. The following footage was recorded in borderless mode with ultra settings. Our RTX 2080 Ti still struggles a bit to maintain a steady framerate, but it's not too bad considering the resolution and all the effects on screen.

Crackdown 3 4K mayhem at 60 fps

Until davton finds the time to capture some Xbox One X gameplay and a new HDR video, here's some 4K action in the PC version of Crackdown 3. Despite it's many shortcomings, the game remains fun to play, but we find it hard to forgive its 2007 design - and its stuttering problems...
Update: As our videos had severe sound issues, we recorded some new 4K gameplay with extreme graphics settings.

Lara gives you the Price of Survival

Lara Corft keeps getting new content as a new DLC was released this week for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Since we've recently acquired a GTX 2080 Ti, we've put it to good use to record some 4K gameplay of the new areas in 60 fps. Enjoy!

Far Cry New Dawn 4K videos

Far Cry New Dawn was released this week and we actually reviewed it in French if you're fluent enough in our language to understand it. Because we wouldn't want you to feel left out, we have recorded a couple of gameplay videos of the game in 4K. To see what the PC version looks like with ultra graphics and in very high definition, you just have to follow us inside. As you'll see, the colorful art style makes this new episode quite appealing visually, though it's a shame there are no real urban areas as it sometimes doesn't feel like you're in a post-apocalyptic world. If it were not for the colors and a bunch of details, it could very well pass for some American countryside landscape, and sadly the weapons lack any originality (aside from one maybe), which further contributes to this impression.

Metro Exodus in 4K and RTX videos

We received yesterday afternoon our own Geforce RTX 2080 TI and after some technical issues (this is Gamersyde after all) we got it at work on Metro Exodus to check its raytraced Global Illumination system. As expected the difference goes from very subtle to quite flagrant depending on the scenes, with a maybe slightly more natural lighting and much more contrast (same might say too much) in the darker part of the map. Let's start with these two videos of the Volga level, running in 4K Ultra Preset, with DLSS enabled and RTX in Ultra mode, showing a game that almost manages to get up to 60 fps in these conditions. 2 more videos will follow shortly, with more within the next few days hopefully showing direct comparisons between RTX on and off.
Update: Added two videos with this time RTX on High.

Crackdown 3 struggles on PC

To say that Crackdown 3's development has been paved with difficulties is what you can call a huge understatement. The game will be officially released in a few hours, but we've had a bit of time to play it already and, though it's too soon to tell you if it has a bit of potential, its approach to open world titles seems a bit dated to say the least. Maybe fans won't mind, but it's to see what this third installment adds to the 2007 formula. To make it worse, the PC version runs quite terribly, as it suffers from stuttering issues on all kinds of rigs, including ours (GTX 1080 Ti and i9 9900K at the time of capture). According to Digital Foundry, it is very unlikely that it can be fixed one day, so talk about cherry on the cake. Check out the 2 following videos and let us know what you think, especially if you've had a chance to try the game.
