Well, I, for one, really like trailers, so let them release as many as they want. I don't really care about the game though.

EDIT: Just saw the trailer. Final Fantasy FINALLY meets Devil May Cry. But it was just a first date so they didn't trade gameplay mechanics very well. There is time though, so take your time. No need to rush in like that.
Oh, and I do like the modern approach to the environment.

Only FF title I am buying thanks to real time combat :D

Looks awesome, though I wish it was Final Fantasy-medieval type which is much better!

I cant wait to see more :)

Clearly the menu and interface in that video has been put on top of the video because you see the main character executing magic attacks and you dont see any thing happening in the menus which has a magic tab!

could be like crisis core, which wasnt real time, but was a lot faster then typical JRPG's.

This is what XIII should have been. Reminds me of the dark setting of Vagrant Story mixed with Devil May Cry and Bayonetta !!

Any chance of Microsoft imposing again and bringing this to the 360 as well ?

I didnt pay attention to menus LOL

Now that I saw it, I think the basic attacks will be real time but during more advanced once you will use the menu?
I dont know, but they say its a action RPG so I assumed it would play as one.

I am playing FFXIII right now and really liking it!! But man that game is TOUGH! Some of the boss fights require batshit insane strategies

Yea you're right.... it will be an action rpg, though there is a bar that decreases every time you attack. The more advanced the attack the more it will decrease.... when the bar is empty you can still move and jump around, but you cant attack until the bar refills enough to do whatever attack it is you want to do. it shows this all in the trailer if you watch it closely.... at least thats what I think is going on. I have watched this trailer a lot of times... its the first FF game I'm hyped for since FFX... yea its been that long...lol

i think RAPTOR is right this will be an ACTION RPG. many people from KINGDOM HEARTS 1&2 are involved in this game. but i dont know about this, i like turn based RPGS more. if i wanna action game i play BAYONETTA or NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA. good thing that XIII-2 will be turn based again :]

actually I think the bar I was talking about is the enemy health bar... oh well... but I still think this will be a real time action rpg.

that CG is very impressive. This might be a FF i actually like.. just hope the storys not too bat shit crazy japanese cheese.

Hope it gets abit more polish with the animations... the characters always look so stiff in these games

After watching the gameplay more, the only thing in the bar that I saw change for the main character was the MP (purple bar) filling up on each attack that hits, other than that, I didnt see any menu decisions or bars decreasing and yet I saw alot of various cool attacks and special moves like dash, that gives me the impression that it has real time combat so it is an Action-RPG.

Sath. The menu's are there for show, and they are not currently reflecting actions being taken. They will undergo changes and will look different in the final game.

Besides, you dont need to speculate much as to what the gameplay is like. If you have ever played Kingdom hearts, it is basically that same system but with HP in points instead of a gauge. its that simple.
