Prepare To Drop!!
I just installed the lastest CoD:WaW 1.5 patch on my PC, came with 3 new *free* MP maps, like it should be.. I will never play and buy it on a console just because they try to sucker you into it by releasing it way later on PC on purpuse (lameass tactics just to make more money)..
The best FPS games on PC offer map-editors etc, so the community can make their own stuff, for free.. The developers make enough money selling the original game, and create much stronger and better online-(fan)communities that way.. Unfortunatly to many people pirate their games on the PC and ineffect ruin it for themselfs.. They give the industry a very easy excuse to focus their attention on the consoles (where the industry can make more money even without piracy on the PC, because there they can get away with charging for bassicly anything, where PC gamers won't accept it after many years of proof that it can be done for free)..

I think Epic is in a difficult situation with regards to the third game. I mean, we know there's going to be a third - the sequel's ending quite blatantly sets it up - but how much more can the game improve on this generation of consoles? Personally, I do think there's a lot more that can be done. For a start, many of the multiplayer aspects do need rethinking - not the Horde mode though, which is sensational and would only need adding to. There are also loads more that can be done to the gameplay in terms of extra mechanics/features, and we are of course still waiting for four-player co-op.
But, most importantly, there's still a fairly compelling story left to tell. Epic can pat themselves on the back for improving the storytelling aspect significantly, but there were still some cringeworthy moments in there. Also, after completing the game again yesterday, I do think that the game had an anti-climatic ending. The final cutscene was okay - kind of perfect for the second game in a trilogy actually, as it hints at a bigger picture as a result of the events that have just occurred - but the boss at the end was just... meh. People complained about RAAM because they felt he was too hard, but I actually loved the fact that he was so difficult; it felt like you had actually achieved something when you defeated him. But in Gears of War 2, even on Insane difficulty I did it first time without any problems.
But back to my point, there is a lot that can still be done with the technology available for the 360. Graphically, I don't think the Unreal Engine can go much further this gen, but hopefully they prove me wrong on that if the third game does see its release in the near future. I mean, I can't say I'll be complaining too much if Gears of War 3 ends up looking pretty similar to Gears of War 2, as the second game is stunning - the underground levels still make my jaw drop to the ground every time.
What decision would I make if I was Epic? Finish the trilogy off on this generation of consoles and then expand on the universe when the next generation of consoles come along.
As for what Epic could do with GOW3 i have no doubt they would amaze us again. - 3 would be Even Bigger Even Better and Even more BadAss!!! :)

I've been thinking about what the third game's plot could be and after watching the ending - after the credits have ended as well - I think I know what it might be... or, at least, what I would have the plot as.
The Locust Queen talks about legacies and leaving things behind in the final cutscene, then Adam Fenix requests help and asks "What have you done?" Well, I reckon that Adam is still down underneath Jacinto and has somehow managed to survive the destruction caused at the end of Gears of War 2. Adam Fenix talking after the credits could be a distress call, which reaches Marcus who recognises his father's voice. So, Gears of War 3 could be a case of Marcus Fenix abandoning his military duties to try and save his father - sound familiar? That's exactly what he did prior to the events of Gears of War, which saw him end up in prison. Of course, the war against the Locust could still be going on at the same time and he might end up being caught right in the middle of it.
The likelyhood is that I'm way wide of the mark, but it would be interesting no? :P
But while the main group of characters, Delta Squad, depicted male stereotypes in the first two games, with one of them even trying to hint at a little bit of drama in the second, female gamers were largely left with almost no representative of their genre, except for communications officer Anya Stroud.
But it seems that this might change in the next installment of the series, Gears of War 3, as the new Gears-themed comic hints at a new female COG soldier, named Alex, who seems to be right at home with fighting Locusts and taking down Brumaks, as seen in the pictures attached to the article.
When asked about the possibility of more female characters by 1 vs. 100 Live host Chris Cashman, Cliff Bleszinski, the man behind the game series, revealed that he couldn't comment on “'possible aspects' of a game that 'may or may not' be in development.” He then said that the girl from the comic series “'may or may not' be involved in any 'as-yet-unannounced' video game projects.”
Alex might appear in the next Gears of War
