Announced a few weeks ago, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD is getting a first video presenting Ray's powers in the game. This HD version of the third installment of the famous franchise will be available on March 21.
Will it be a typical and utterly terrible ubisoft port like splinter cell, beyond good and evil and price of persia? All of them have some sort of weird problem either with controls (BG&E), sound (POP) or lack of features (SC).

I think the problems you're describing (especially BG&E's controls) in an inherent problem with the original software. Honestly, people romanticize these games, but not every game that we remember as great was all 100% perfect.

I think it's more to do with them porting the PC version rather then up-rezing the console version. Something seems to be lost in translation between mouse based camera movement and an analogue stick.

No BGE HD played exactly like the original, which was blamed at the time for its camera problems.
And splinter cell with it's obscure lack of invert options? Chaos theory didnt even retain the split-screen co-op mode that was in the console version of the game. Only one reason for that, they ported the PC version which never had the feature to begin with. I dont get why they dont just up-rez the perfectly fine and working console version?!? Must be a ubisoft thing.

Did I mention Splinter Cell? Nope, I was just pointing out the fact that BGE's problems were not due to a PC port.

BG&Es camera was never as bad as the HD port. At least not the PS2 version. The HD version was twitchy as hell. Only explination i can come up with is that it was a PC port rather then a console version up-rezing. Meh, maybe it was some other reason?

Well I don't understand then, since I played the 360 version of BGE HD and never had any twitchy camera at all. And it felt exactly the same as the old gen version I played back in the days.
